June 23, 2008

In this dream, it was the last day of high school. (Does anyone else find it strange that I always dream about high school, and never about college?) I really didn't really have to pay any attention to anything the teachers were saying, since this would be the last time I'd see any of them, so I was just taking it easy! All of us students were going through each of our classrooms, and getting our final grades, checking in our books and whatnot. The principal walked up to me, and handed me a very large framed photo which had been hanging in the hallway, saying that he wanted me to have it. He told me that it was a picture of my grandmother, and that they'd erected it in the hallway after she'd graduated, but now it was time for me to have it.

In my Math class, my teacher informed us that we would be having a party, and that a performance would be held. I began helping him arrange the desks so that the performers would have enough room at the front of the class. I remember that he wanted me to post little tags on the clocks that read each day of the week (at the time, it made sense!). The order of events for the performance was written on the blackboard. There were only about 4-5 events written, but the only ones I remember it saying was a dog interpreter, a puppet master, and lastly Tokio Hotel (a German band I liked) would be performing in our classroom.

I immediately looked to the back of the room and saw all of the band members, putting their equipment together. One of my male classmates was talking about how a band had played at his previous school (he'd transferred not long before), and at one point all of the band members had grown increasingly hot, and had decided to kick off their socks and shoes. The boy continued to tell us that he'd promptly stolen one of the band members' socks, and still had it as a souvenir! I remember thinking that if I could find a way to get one of Bill's (the lead singer of Tokio Hotel) socks, then it would just make my day!

Things didn't go quite as planned, and as it turned out, none of the other performers arrived, so the band moved up to become first on the list of events. I made sure to sit on the side of the room that Bill was on, so I could stare at him the entire time. The band began their opening song, and I was completely into it! I was clapping, and cheering, and singing along with them. I soon discovered that I was the only one applauding however. Looking around, I saw that no one else in the room even knew who this band was, let alone knowing the lyrics to any of their songs. It didn't bother me however, I cheered all the louder to make up for it.

I remember looking down at Bill's feet (one of the few times I took my eyes off his face!) and seeing that he wore pink shoes with a plaid design. He also had the ends of his pants tucked into his shoes, which gave his pants an "Alladin" look, since they poofed out, like Alladin's do. After the performance was over, I had to attend my Band class, and I was so pumped full of energy! I wanted to play my clarinet with all the force I could muster! However, my reed had mysteriously broken, and a screw on my ligature was missing, so it turned out to be impossible for me.

Once Band class was over, I was able to go home. Once I got there, all I wanted to do was lay in the yard. Ben (one of my old friends from high school) showed up, and I noticed that he was unhappy. In an attempt to cheer him up, I placed a fuzzy red hat on his knee. It must have worked, since he became much happier, but told me he'd better continue on home. After he was gone, I felt like sunbathing, so I went inside, put on my bathing suit, grabbed a bottle of sunscreen and was soon laying in the grass, applying the sun lotion to myself. For some reason, the inside of my right elbow began bleeding, and the sun lotion stung when it hit the wound. A few minutes later Tim (another old friend from high school) appeared and asked me what I was doing. I told him, and asked if he'd like to hang around. He told me that he couldn't, because he was on his way to his grandmother's house. He also informed me that laying underneath the constellation Orion, meant that I was laying at the peak of the day (I have absolutely no idea what that means!) At that moment, I realized that I was lying at the top of a hill, and it was difficult to keep myself from rolling down it. Once Tim left, I noticed that the sun was no longer hitting me. I got up, and found that, because of the numerous trees, there were no patches of sunlight to be found in the backyard. I quickly made my way to the front of the house, seeing that most of it was in sunlight. However, the second I stepped into the front yard, the light began fading. I looked up at the sky and saw black clouds covering the sun, which had suddenly sank very low in the sky. I was extremely pissed, because I'd just finished putting on all of that sunscreen, and now the sun was sinking. I remember going inside to wait for my parents to get home, and suddenly feeling very afraid, because the house was very dark, and I could hear people talking from inside the walls. That was when I finally woke up.
